New Heights School

Arlington, VA

Recipient of the 2021 Ideas2 National Award by the American Institute of Steel Construction, the Heights School offers students a cutting-edge learning environment. The structure consists of five stacked steel-framed ‘bars’ that fan around a pivot. This fanning necessitated development of an innovative load path concept to support the floating buttresses. The project required great deal of planning, and coordination and was delivered on time and within budget.

Banker Steel Company was selected as the fabricator of this state of the art high school in Arlington, VA. With outstanding architectural features, this school is a great asset to the community.
